Police: Woman blames drunkenness on ‘Fat Tuesday’ party

EVANSVILLE A woman arrested on drunken driving charges early Wednesday told officers she had been drinking on “Fat Tuesday,” according to an Evansville Police Department report.
Police were called to 1601 Jackson Ave. to investigate a complaint of a woman urinating outside a vehicle at 4:46 a.m. They arrived to find a black BMW parked sideways in the street with the engine running, according to the report. As they approached it they saw a woman, identified as Sarah Ann Moore, asleep in the driver’s seat. There were several strands of beads and decorative necklaces on the passenger seat.
Police said her breath smelled like alcohol, her eyes were bloodshot and she was unsteady on her feet when she got out of the car. An officer asked her what she had been doing, according to the report, and she replied that she had been drinking on “Fat Tuesday.”
When asked, Moore also told officers that she had been driving the car, police said.
Moore had a 0.20 blood-alcohol content, according to the report. she was taken to the Vanderburgh County Jail.
