LOS ANGELES, Feb. 17 (UPI) — Shannon Brown ably filled in for injured Kobe Bryant Tuesday by scoring 27 points and leading the Los Angeles Lakers to a 104-94 win over Golden State.

Brown picked off 10 rebounds and scored 12 of his total in the fourth quarter to break open what had been a tight contest.

Andrew Bynum scored 21 points for the Lakers, who have won nine of their past 11 games — including four straight since Bryant was sidelined with a sprained ankle. Ron Artest finished with 15 and Lamar Odom had nine points and 18 rebounds.

The Warriors had 23 points from Anthony Morrow and 20 from C.J. Watson. They lost for the 10th time in their last 11 games and have not beaten the Lakers in eight straight tries.

The Lakers roared out to a 36-24 lead after one quarter, but scored only 18 in the second and led 54-51 at the half.
